Local Enterprise

The Business Development Team (BDT) are responsible for providing a high standard of information, advisory and business support services to current and potential businesses within the Island of St. Helena. 

The core objectives of the BDT are aligned to promoting opportunity and enabling growth of industries and key sectors identified within the Sustainable Economic Development Plan (SEDP), such as Tourism, Agriculture, Fishing, Construction and Recycling; with the ultimate goal of achieving increased and enhanced product and service offerings.

The Team assist local enterprises with accessing professional support and also finance, where this is not readily available from mainstream lending sources.

There are a range of industries with growth potential for local Enterprise opportunities. With the connection to fibre optic subsea cable during 2021 will further enhance opportunities.
