As the Director of Policy Development & Social Enterprise, Rob is responsible for the strategic leadership and management of the Policy and Social Enterprise development portfolios of Enterprise St Helena (ESH) and also the Capital Projects Management Team.
Developing policy and supporting social enterprise
Alongside of ensuring that ESH puts in place robust, evidence based policies which support economic development, he has also been tasked with developing partnerships with senior management in SHG, DFID, the wider Economic Development Team (including Offshore Support), plus key parties involved in the development of community based organisations and other emerging strategic players.
Rob manages the day to day operations of the Project Management Team to ensure that Crown assets which are released to ESH are developed in a manner which supports economic growth activity and enhances the tourism offering.
Experience and skills
Robert is a Chartered Fellow with the Chartered Management Institute, and holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, both of which were achieved while living on the island. Originally from the UK, he is married to a local, has attained Saint Helenian status through local residence and has worked in development management on the island since 2008.
Rob also has experience of working within other UK Overseas Territories and offshore establishments, particularly in areas such as Construction and Maintenance / Facilities Management, Quality Assurance and Change Management.
